Aurora Matthews joined The Hatcher Group in February 2008 after working for a public affairs firm, pitching stories and gaining national news coverage for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and other major clients. Aurora previously worked as a researcher at the Committee to Protect Journalists, where she compiled data about the journalists who have been murdered around the world in the past 15 years. Aurora also served as an intern for Sen. Edward M. Kennedy’s press office in Washington, D.C.

Aurora recently graduated from American University where she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism and foreign policy. There she was a contributing writer for the American Observer and The Eagle. She also received an associate’s degree from Simon’s Rock College of Bard, a selective liberal arts college dedicated to serving high-achieving high school students.
