Helina Teklehaimanot

Helina joined The Hatcher Group in December 2005 and plays a leading role in coordinating Spotlight on Poverty and Opportunity, an initiative co-managed by the Center for Law and Social Policy and supported by 15 major national foundations. She manages Spotlight’s weekly newsletter and assists in content development for the Spotlight Web site. Helina also coordinates policy forums and briefings for Spotlight and other clients including Martin Luther King III’s Realizing the Dream, Inc. She also provides extensive support for the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s work on rural poverty and workforce development.

 

A cum laude graduate of Boston College, Helina has received numerous honors for her academic accomplishments and leadership, including the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship and the McNair Scholars program. Prior to joining The Hatcher Group, Helina held a marketing internship with the World Teach Organization, a nonprofit that encourages individuals to teach in developing countries. She also completed a significant research project on the influence of African countries within the World Trade Organization.
