
Kathleen Kennedy Manzo
Director, Education Policy and Outreach
Kathleen Kennedy Manzo comes to The Hatcher Group after 24 years as a journalist. During her 13-year tenure as a reporter and editor for Education Week newspaper, she covered federal and state education policy related to curriculum and instruction, academic standards, and educational technology. Kathleen has won national awards for her news coverage and feature writing.
Kathleen started her career as an editorial aide and staff writer for The Washington Post, where she covered local school and government news and sports. Prior to joining Education Week, Kathleen was editor of Community College Week newspaper and a senior writer for Black Issues in Higher Education magazine.
Kathleen holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from George Mason University and a master’s in education from the University of Virginia.
