Lynn Anderson

Senior Associate

Lynn has worked as a reporter and editor for 13 years, most recently at The Baltimore Sun, where she covered breaking news, poverty issues and local government and politics. During her 9 years at the newspaper, Lynn worked on many national stories, including the federal indictment of former Baltimore Ravens running back Jamal Lewis in 2004 and the recent investigation by local authorities into possible ethics violations by Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon. When she wasn’t handling breaking news, Lynn wrote about Maryland’s beleaguered foster care system, the link between dog fighting and Baltimore’s drug culture, the city’s efforts to house the homeless, and the lives of women forced into prostitution by poverty and drug addiction. She also served as Co-Chair of the Baltimore Sun Unit of the Washington-Baltimore Newspaper Guild.

Prior to coming to Baltimore, Lynn was a reporter at The San Bernardino County Sun in Southern California. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. As a graduate student, she worked for the Medill News Service, covering Capitol Hill for the Lee Newspapers of Montana. She also received a scholarship to cover the 1994 United Nations International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo, Egypt.

Before becoming a journalist, Lynn spent two years teaching English to high school students in Poznan, Poland as part of Harvard University’s WorldTeach program. As an undergraduate, she studied at La Sorbonne and Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.
