
Tom Waldron

Tom Waldron is a writer and editor with more than 20 years of experience in journalism and freelance writing. He spent 17 years as a reporter for the Baltimore Sun, where he served as Maryland State House bureau chief, covering a range of state and national issues. He has won numerous writing awards and has reported from more than a dozen states.
As a freelancer, he has written extensively about policy issues, including health care, taxation, education, tort reform, automobile insurance and job training. He has authored several major policy reports, including "Working Hard, Falling Short: America's Working Families and the Pursuit of Economic Security" in 2004 for the Working Poor Families Project. He has also done writing and communications work for a range of Maryland nonprofit groups.
Tom is the author of Pride of the Sea, which recounts the loss of the schooner Pride of Baltimore in 1986. The book was praised by the Washington Post as "one of the year's great adventure reads."
Tom graduated with a degree in architecture from Yale University.
