Report Release

The Hatcher Group provided media outreach for the 2012 Assets & Opportunity Scorecard by the Corporation for Enterprise Development. The report found that nearly half of U.S. households have almost no savings and 27 percent are "asset poor." It received extensive national and local coverage, including The Huffington Post, Marketplace, Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun and Denver Post.

 

Forum

The Hatcher Group helped plan a half day forum for Spotlight on Poverty and Opportunity. The Politics of Economic Opportunity: Will Growing Poverty Affect Election 2012? presented two panel discussions featuring major national pollsters, political analysts and members of the media.

Report Release

The Hatcher Group provided media outreach for the Nov. 17 release of Unlocking Unemployment Opportunity for Previously Incarcerated Persons in the District of Columbia by the Council for Court Excellence. The report, which found massive unemployment among those with criminal records, received extensive media coverage, including stories in the Washington Post and by the Associated Press.

 

Job Creation Initiative Launch

The Hatcher Group helped launch the Big Ideas for Job Creation initiative, coordinating a panel discussion Nov. 8, designing and releasing an issues brief, and creating a new website. The Big Ideas project promotes practical, sustainable, scalable job creation ideas that can be adopted by state and local governments.
