Director, Digital Content

The Hatcher Group seeks a director to provide digital content and strategy support to its clients, including nonprofit organizations, foundations, and government agencies. The director will be deft in writing compelling social posts, oversee organic social media and execution for clients, specializing in targeted messaging to reach diverse populations. They will join a growing digital team supporting all clients with social media and other related digital activities. The director will be an expert at SEO and keenly understand social trends.

The ideal candidate is curious, digitally savvy, and willing to learn and experiment with new technology, strategies, and tactics. They must have an understanding of organic digital strategies and how to effectively boost client engagement and amplification. The selected candidate will also be expected to contribute positively to a team environment rooted in the firm’s core values, upholding our community guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the firm’s digital content capability for clients.
  • Write and develop original content for social media.
  • Build targeted messaging aligned with custom personas.
  • Strategize and execute both organic and paid social media campaigns.
  • Launch and manage TikTok and Clubhouse.
  • Serve as the in-house SEO expert.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 8 years of related professional digital experience.
  • Advanced understanding of social media best practices to share with clients.
  • Excellent writing skills and expertise in writing for social media, email, and web.
  • Experience with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google, TikTok, and Clubhouse platforms.
  • Familiarity with program management and media planning software.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work directly with clients and manage projects in collaboration with others.
  • Knowledge of email distribution tools such as Constant Contact or MailChimp.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of social listening tools such as Meltwater or Talkwaker.
  • Knowledge of The Trade Desk, or other programmatic digital advertising preferred.
  • Familiarity with WordPress, Sprout Social, TweetReach, Tweepi, and Canva a plus.

Hatcher is currently fully remote, with a flexible workplace policy. The preferred location is within reasonable commuting distance to any of our office locations in Bethesda, Baltimore, or Annapolis for occasional in-person collaboration.
