Talent & Operations Specialist

The Hatcher Group seeks to hire an enthusiastic and detail-oriented administrative professional to support our team. The ideal candidate will enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver excellent internal customer service and efficient process management.

The Talent & Operations Specialist will be a valuable team member with exposure to a wide variety of functions within the firm. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in efficiently using systems to complete tasks and develop regular processes. The role will rely on a keen ability to prioritize and independently manage workload. Value will be added to the operational excellence of the team through process improvements, enhanced workflow, superior organization, and open communication. Ideally, the selected person would also serve as office coordinator for our offices.  The preferred location is within reasonable commuting distance to Bethesda. Please note, we are currently still remote with limited in-person collaboration, but this role would require frequent in-person presence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Talent & Operations Specialist will be a team-player with responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Talent & Culture
    • Assist with talent acquisition including screening, interviewing, and candidate selection
    • Coordinate internal events that increase firm culture and camaraderie
    • Contribute to the onboarding and offboarding processes
    • Partner with VP, Talent & Culture to develop and implement new ideas that enhance our employer brand and increase employee engagement
  • Business Development
    • Maintain onboarding employee records such as bios, resumes, etc.
    • Assist in the completion of required forms in support of proposals
    • Help develop and maintain a record of business licenses and certifications and support in the renewal/application process
  • Finance
    • Review and approve weekly timesheets
    • Assist with resource management reporting and tracking
    • Manage corporate credit card receipt reconciliation process
  • Operations
    • Maintain the Hatcher Knowledge Hub with relevant resources
    • Perform duties such as office supply management, mail distribution, visitor log maintenance, corporate calendar oversight, and vendor management
    • Facilitate help desk tickets and troubleshoot with IT vendor
    • Manage incoming correspondence from corporate email inboxes and phone line

The team uses a variety of platforms to execute responsibilities. While previous experience in these systems is not a requirement for consideration, the Talent & Operations Specialist will be expected to learn the systems through on-the-job and self-paced training.

The selected candidate will also be expected to contribute positively to a team environment rooted in the firm’s core values, upholding our community guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate Degree with 2 years of professional experience, including internships
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and become proficient user
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload, with attention to deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough approach to organization and multi-tasking
  • Desire to learn operations processes quickly
  • Spirit of initiative and follow through
