Kate is a seasoned communications, fundraising, and advocacy professional with over 15 years of experience in developing successful strategies that move public opinion, building collaborative relationships among diverse stakeholders, and curating creative non-profit communications and fundraising collateral.
Before joining The Hatcher Group, Kate was a senior communications advisor and speechwriter at Jhpiego, a non-profit global health affiliate of Johns Hopkins University. There she developed and executed advocacy strategies to advance the organization’s mission and provided comprehensive communications support to multi-national projects, senior leadership, and fundraising efforts. In addition to her time at Jhpiego, Kate previously served as a communications strategist and special assistant to the president of Duke University and spent 5 formative years as a Legislative Director in the U.S. House of Representatives.
A graduate of Ithaca College and George Washington University, Kate lives in Annapolis, MD, with her husband, two daughters, and a very energetic goldendoodle.
