Rachel Cain

Associate Director

At The Hatcher Group, Rachel works with a variety of clients to achieve positive change for the environment and public health.

Before joining the Hatcher Group, she wrote about politics and national and international social justice issues for several media publications. These outlets include ThinkProgress, Street Sense (Washington, D.C.’s street paper), Montgomery Magazine, and The Prince George’s Sentinel.

Rachel graduated from the University of Dayton in 2016 with majors in English and International Studies with a concentration in International Journalism, and minors in Spanish and Communication. She wrote for, edited, and/or oversaw a variety of school publications, including the student-run newspaper, the Women’s Center newsletter, and the Honors Department magazine. She also participated in the Creating Inclusive Communities cohort, which developed student-driven diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Rachel also completed a year of service with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC). She worked with her team to perform national and community service projects, including long-term disaster relief. Rachel managed and edited the team’s reports and media outreach, and received a Bronze Congressional Award after her term of service.
