Clare Burnside

Director

Clare Burnside, director, has over a decade of experience driving high-impact, equity-centered public engagement strategies for federal agencies, nonprofits, and health care organizations.

At Hatcher, she works primarily with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), leading national, multi-media engagement initiatives to increase Veterans’ awareness and access to digital health technologies.

Before joining Hatcher, Clare held several roles with the VA, supporting digital health engagement and directing national communications to advance Veteran suicide prevention research, policy, and awareness. Earlier in her career, she served as the marketing and communications coordinator at the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (WASBO), a nonprofit serving Wisconsin’s school business professionals, where she managed communications, events, and public policy outreach.

Clare earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations and marketing from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville and holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
